Extract Images

Extracting images pulls the embedded pictures out of a PDF and saves them as separate image files. This is useful for reclaiming photographs from a brochure, grabbing figures from a report, or reusing graphics from a presentation exported to PDF.

ColaPDF scans the document with the PDF.js engine, finds the embedded images and bundles them into a ZIP for download — all in your browser, with no upload.

How it works

  1. Upload your PDF file
  2. Click Extract Images — the tool scans every page for embedded images
  3. Preview the found images on screen
  4. Download individually or all at once as a ZIP

Tips

Frequently asked questions

What image formats are extracted?

Images are extracted as PNG files regardless of the original format inside the PDF.

What if no images are found?

The tool will tell you the PDF contains no embedded images. Vector graphics and text are not exported as images.

Are files uploaded?

No. Extraction runs entirely in your browser using PDF.js.

Can I extract images from a specific page only?

Currently all pages are scanned. You can then download only the images you need.
