This policy explains what ColaPDF collects when you use colapdf.com, and the choices you have. ColaPDF is run by one person, in Portugal. For anything about your data, write to privacy@colapdf.com.
When you use any tool on ColaPDF, your files are read and processed locally by JavaScript in your browser. They are never transmitted to us or to any third party. When you close the tab, any file data held in memory is discarded by the browser.
We use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to see which pages and tools are used, which browsers people have, and where they get stuck. Clarity records clicks and scrolling as anonymous session replays and heatmaps. Everything inside the tools is hidden from it, so file names and anything shown from your files are never recorded.
ColaPDF uses your browser's local storage to remember small preferences, your language, your recent tools, your cookie choice and, in Scan to PDF, which camera you picked. This stays on your device and is not transmitted to us. Analytics cookies are only set if you accept them in the banner shown on your first visit, in line with Google Consent Mode v2 and the GDPR.
ColaPDF uses no outside services other than Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity, and Google AdSense's script, which is on the page while Google reviews the site. No ads are shown. The fonts, the AI models and the OCR language data are all served by colapdf.com.
Because we do not store your files or personal data on our servers, there is no retention period applicable to your documents. Local storage data on your device can be cleared by you at any time through your browser settings.
ColaPDF is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under the GDPR, the CCPA, or other privacy laws, including the right to access, correct or delete personal data, and to withdraw consent. Since we do not collect personal data from your documents, these rights mainly concern analytics data.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page.
