Page Numbers

Adding page numbers makes a document easier to navigate, reference and print in the right order. It is expected in reports, dissertations, contracts and any multi-page document that will be read or cited.

ColaPDF lets you choose the position, format, font size, margin and starting number, then stamps consistent numbering across the whole document — locally, with no upload.

Tips

• Choose a format like "Page X of Y" for long documents so readers know how much remains.
• Set a custom starting number when the first pages are a cover or table of contents.
• Place numbers in the bottom-centre or bottom-right for the most conventional look.

Frequently asked questions

Can I start numbering from a page other than 1?

Yes — set any starting number in the options.

What formats are available?

"1, 2, 3", "Page 1", "1 of 10" and "Page 1 of 10".

Are files uploaded?

No. Everything runs in your browser.

Can I add numbers to only some pages?

Currently numbers are added to all pages. Per-page selection is coming soon.
